State of the Newsgroup
(too old to reply)

One year ago, on the 5th anniversary of the first post on TGP, I
declared New Group Order. My intention was not to make TGP a strictly
Pokemon newsgroup but anything in general. Now, let's just evaluate
how things are going.

...

Okay, they havn't been good with the trolls but this has been the most
successful year for TGP, in comparison to the past 4 years. There have
been more on-topic posts, despite the lack of topic. TGP has gained
two regs, Chriz and Clay, who happen to be more devoted to this than I
am, which is freaky yet awesome. The trolls are rather lame but I feel
that tensions are slowly easing up.

IMHO, here's what we need to do:

1) Ignore the trolls.
2) Post anything, Pokemon related or not.
3) Stop feeding the trolls by reviving old threads
4) Keep up the spirit and like that Journey song- Don't stop,
believing!

Chriz, Clay, you guys are awesome. I feel kinda sorry I havn't been
posting that much. You guys are just awesome that after all these
years, some people finally know what the hell I've been trying to get
at.

Haights, Steffan, Pahsons - you're welcome to join us. You don't need
to be resisitive of us. Haights, if you want to irritate me, it's not
going to work. You can join us and we can all discuss about whatever
peacefully. Think about it.

Well, that's about it. I know it's not the best State of the Newsgroup
sort of deal, but "brevity is the key to wit" (pardon me if I messed
that up).

If you factor in the number of posts made counting towards a successful
group, then it is the "trolls" [sic] partly that have made this group
successful this year.

Thanks for the praise, but I don't really feel as though I've been doing
much.

Perhaps they've gotten over taunting the people in this group completely.

Speaking of Pahsons, what happened to him? I havn't seem him in any of the 3
groups that I know he posts at lately.

Well like Steffan said, Usenet appears to be a dying medium. I guess it's
true because it does not seem to be something that the kids catch on to, at
least not in the last few years. Message boards and stuff are more
attractive for them. This has in part contributed to the state of the group,
because not many people seek out Pokémon groups to join on Usenet.
